Welcome to our OB prenatal care! We care about you.

How can you have a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby?

• Get prenatal care as early in your pregnancy as you can. Early care is a great investment in your health and your new baby’s health.
   
• Keep your appointments and go for recommended lab tests and ultrasounds. All the blood tests, ultrasounds, and appointments can seem overwhelming but are necessary to insure that you stay healthy as well as have a healthy baby.
   
• Come for well-baby visits once your child is born. Immunizations and developmental checks help ensure a good health start for your child.

Obstetric services are provided by Austin's staff of physicians and nurse midwives. The program is headed by Julene Murage, MD, who has extensive experience in the care of pregnant women. The department also has two experienced nurse midwives whose focus is to keep mother and baby healthy. All deliveries are performed at Capital Health System.

Gynecological Services
Austin offers comprehensive gynecological services to patients who require such services. On-site GYN services include, but are not limited to:

• Annual Gynecological Exams
   
• Pap Smears (Cervical Cancer Screens)
   
• Ultrasound Studies
   
• Contraceptive Management, including Depo Provera Injections
   
• Surgical Procedures, including:
  • LEEP - Electrosurgical removal of precancerous cells from the cervix;
  • Colposcopy - Diagnostic examination of the cervix and vagina; and
  • Cryosurgery - Surgical treatment which rapidly freezes tissues in the cervix.

Obstetrics & Gynecology Providers

Julene Evans Murage, M.D., FACOG Section Chief Obstetrics and Gynecology Dr. Julene O. Evans Murage is a graduate of State University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Maimonides Medical Center. Prior to joining Henry J. Austin Health Center at Hamilton, Dr. Murage has been in practice for 18 years. She is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

	Fred Williams, MD
	Kim C. Florence, M.D., Kim C. Florence, M.D., is a graduate of Boston University School of Medicine and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Morris Brown College in Atlanta, Georgia. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Brooklyn Hospital Center. She has practiced Obstetrics and Gynecology for 7 years. Dr. Kim Florence is Board Eligible.

Roman J. Tatarowicz, M.D., FACOG Dr. Tatarowicz is a graduate of Saint George’s University School of Medicine. Dr. Tatarowicz completed his residency Obstetrics and Gynecology at St. Michael’s Medical Center, Newark, NJ. Dr. Tatarowicz has been in practice for 14 years. Dr. Tatarowicz is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Abdul-Haqq, Asia CNM Asia Abdul-Haqq, Certified Nurse Midwife, is a graduate of Yale University with a Master of Science in Nursing and Nurse Midwifery Certificate. Asia Abdul-Haqq has been in practice for 27 years.

Karen Saroya, CNM Karen Saroya, Certified Nurse Midwife, graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Summa Cum Laude with an M.S. specialty in Nurse Midwifery. Ms. Saroya has been in practice for 26 years.
