Urgent Care is Austin’s way of providing care for people
who have no appointment, but have a minor illness and / or pain
and can’t wait for an appointment to be seen. A headache,
cold, stuffy nose, or having a child you’ve been up with all
night are some examples seen in Urgent Care. If your head, chest,
arm or leg, etc. pains are too much for you to endure, or you have
trouble breathing, please go to an emergency room immediately.
Fast track is similar to a Hospital Walk In Service, except that
you don’t have to wait a long time to be seen as you would
in an Emergency Room.
Austin’s Board-Certified or Board-Eligible physicians will
take excellent care of you, make referrals, if necessary, and write
prescriptions if you need them. If you already have an Austin provider,
but that person is not caring for you in Urgent Care, your provider
will know when you came for care, the reason and the kind of care
you received. You won’t be lost in a system, which can happen
in large institutions. You will be able to return to your same provider.
If you have no primary care provider, Austin will be happy to be
your medical home. Please mention this during your Urgent Care visit
and arrangements will be made the same day. Henry J. Austin Health
Center offers a wide variety of services. Please feel free to ask
any staff person for more information.
